Niche Marketing

It wasn't until very recently that I realized the power of niche marketing and the money that could be made from it.

Over the years we've all been exposed to the term Niche Marketing as a way to target a certain group of people with matching information and a product.

At first glance this appears simple but most people find it hard to get started. Usually the problem is getting things going and not feeling confident about being an authority on the chosen subject. What if I told you that wasn't necessary!

There are many products out there that will help you determine a different Niche for you to market to. Recently, my eyes were opened by a friend of mine that built a very profitable business about a Niche he knew NOTHING about. I'll tell you his story and the simple formula that you can follow to do the same thing.

My friend's Niche Market is Cat Care and other than owning a cat himself he knew nothing else about Cat Care and Cat Health. The first thing he did was take 2 days reading everything he could find on the net about Cat Care.  At the same time he could clearly see that there was plenty of interest about this topic on the net. People love their pets and this was good.

He joined numerous online forums and started an interesting strategy by providing answers to people's questions.  When someone would ask a question he would quickly research the question, find the answer and post the link back to the person on the forum. It didn t take long before he was well-liked and instantly gained respect. (If you do this make sure you don't use your real name& you'll see why)

With Cat Care as his Niche he needed a product so he contacted an expert and asked if he could interview him on the phone.  In this case it was a veteran employee of the local S.P.C.A who dealt specifically with abused cats. The Forum had given him many questions that he could ask about and the conversation went on for over 3 hours, all of it recorded. It's interesting to note how the information from the Forums told him exactly what people were discussing and what they were interested in hearing about regarding Cat Care.

He took the audio from the phone call and had it transcribed for $50. From this he edited it down to two things: A full PDF document that would become an ebook as well as a very interesting excerpt which would become his "giveaway" newsletter.
(more on that later)

Next he found a local veterinarian who he interview and video taped. Now his product was taking shape and after transcribing the second interview, included 2 content rich ebooks, audio recordings and an excellent series of live videos with an expert.

The next step was to advertise under the keyword Cat Care and give away his newsletter in exchange for names and emails so he could contact them with more information. This was done through a capture page that quickly ran down the best parts of the Cat Care program and if the visitor sent their name and email address they would receive a free video about a common Cat Care related problem.

You can see how one thing will feed off another. Advertising is building a list while folks are contacting him with more interesting questions as well as when they can buy his product.  This fuels the actual products growth by adding more content, features and bonuses. Also, he could send updates and the release date of his Cat Care Product to the subscribers when it was ready.

People love to be involved and included in what you're doing as a product is being built. It's a great idea to let folks know (with email broadcasts) what you're adding or why the product is late etc& This just adds to the excitement!

Remember the anonymous poster at the Forums. Well now this well respected fellow forum-member makes another helpful suggestion by mentioning this great Cat Care product that he ran into and gives the website where they can get some excellent free information about their cat from an expert. This is a very powerful strategy.

By the time the Cat Care product was released there was a steady stream of interested buyers that brought in $10,000 in sales the first month. Since then he continues to make over $5000 a month with this $49 Niche Product.

So for someone that knew nothing about Cat Care he has done very well for himself.
He also has his list that is more than happy to hear from him with any other related products that he may have for them.

A business like Site Build It can take care of the website-building part of this business but the same general formula can work for you with any Niche Product or idea. Here's the formula for you:

1. Find a niche that has lots of interest. Do this by googling and joining forums on your subject. Pay attention to what people are asking and saying.
2. Do your own online research.
3. Find an expert to interview with your question list
4. Hang around related forums, answer questions, be helpful and make note of what people are needing and looking for - don't use your real name.
5. Transcribe your audio/video of questions and answers and have it become your ebook and "giveaway" newsletter. Include video clips and audio recordings as your product
6. Build a list, update them, launch and continue to sell more to them.

One thing that happens after I became successful from internet marketing is having the time to look into other ways of making money online.  Although I didn't initially find success with online Niche Marketing, I can clearly see how powerful and lucrative this can be if you know the formula. I am presently involved in 3 Niche Marketing promotions which I'm very excited about.

Niche Marketing is a very powerful way to create a steady income from home.

After examining and testing hundreds of money-making opportunities and work at home programs, ONLY ONE brought in a paycheck that covered all my monthly expenses.
