Viral marketing is an inexpensive strategy that is used to pass on advertisement to one another just like word of mouth. Viral marketing increases the amount of viewers without the need for further advertising. An example would be a blank text box to type in your friend's email to tell them about a certain web-site.

The idea is to get enough visitors to recommend or pass along your web link to others and those people doing the same thing. This interesting method can have a snowballing effect that will spread like wildfire! At the same time others are looking at your message, you are receiving ads that you are required to look at in exchange.

This can sometimes backfire if your ad doesn't catch on and dies while all the other ads end up in your inbox.
